PIN-UP CONTEST

General Rules

  • You must be at least 18 to compete

  • You MUST show up & on time! (no flakes) Registration is at 10am SHARP!

  • No nudity, flashing, or any other unladylike conduct will be tolerated

  • Drug use by contestants is strictly prohibited, disruptive behavior and excessive drinking/extreme intoxication by contestants will result in immediate dismissal. (keep it classy ladies)

  • If you are asked to leave your entry fee will NOT be refunded

  • Pinups must be dressed in period correct attire in all categories (1920-1960’s). This is a tribute to the sexy classics

  • Props may be used but parasols are not allowed indoors (it’s bad luck)

  • A professional or quality image of yourself must be provided for promotional purposes and submitted by email including your “pinup” name-No Selfies Please

  • An entry fee of $25.00 is required and all entry fees will be donated directly to the VFW. Bring your entry fee to the pinup registration on the day of the event.

  • A changing room for pinups will be designated for all wardrobe changes, hair and makeup touchups (pinups only and you are responsible for your own hair & makeup)

  • Each girl must be dressed to impress and ready to rock at the time of your arrival. We suggest bringing along a little emergency bag of things you might need to get you through the day. Don’t forget your lipstick! You will need to keep your pinup look fresh for the photos taken during and afterwards.

  • *I HAVE READ AND UNDERSTAND THE GENERAL CONTEST RULES. I UNDERSTAND THAT IF I DO NOT ADHERE TO THESE GUIDELINES I WILL BE DISMISSED

Contest

This year’s contest will consist of 3 categories in order as listed. You will be asked a question in each for a total of 3 questions

  • Classic Pinup Attire  

  • Swimwear/Beachwear 

  • Eveningwear 

Guidelines:

Classic Pinup/Retro Attire 

  • *period correct (1920’s-60’s)

  • *military & patriotic attire is encouraged (the purpose of the event) but not required.

Swimwear/Retro-Beachwear

  1. *period correct swim suit in Red, White & Blue to keep with patriotic       

    theme but not required. Have fun with it! (1920’s-60’s)

  2. *you are required to wear heels and nude hosiery (trust us on this)

  3. *this is a great opportunity to be creative, fun hair accessories, sarongs etc.

  4. *parasols will be provided for outside use  

ABSOLUTELY NO

  • DENTAL FLOSS (g-string),

  • MICRO-TRIANGLES (aka eye patch),

  • or PASTIES. THIS IS A FAMILY EVENT.

           We don’t want any angry wives!

Eveningwear

  1. *dresses must be full length (no cocktail dresses)

  2. *no tiaras

  3. *full length gloves & brilliant jewels

  5. The “Harbor Room” will be a specially designated dressing room for contestants  to change and prepare for the contest.

  6. We will have a place for you to hang your outfits and touch-up hair & makeup.

  7. Light refreshments & snacks will be provided to keep you rocking too!

Judging will be conducted by a specially selected panel

as well as the audience vote

1. Participants must be present at winner announcements to claim their prize.

   If you are not present it will be given to the next runner up.

2. Winners are determined by combined decisions of audience and judges

3. Results of judging and prizes awarded are final

You will be judged on the following:

  1. Era appropriate attire

  2. Hair and makeup

  3. Personality

  4. Originality

  5. Composure

  6. Stage presence 

  7. How well you answer your questions

  8. Audience feedback (cheers & applause)
